ABSTRACT

This paper presents an interdisciplinary approach, applying sociology, psychology, biology, public policy and educology in order to analyze the contemporary phenomenon of drug and substance abuse, its reasons, consequences and prevention methods. It emphasizes that the strategies to reduce drug and substance abuse should employ different complex knowledge of different fields while combining individual, group and societal levels.
